Christchurch to Westport (via Lewis Pass)
From the plains of Canterbury to the Mountains of the Lewis Pass, a day of awesome scenery
We depart Christchurch and it’s across the Canterbury Plains, before climbing the foothills of the Southern Alps. We travel through the Lewis Pass, where you are surrounded by snow-capped mountains, wonderful native bush, farm land, and you may even get to meet some of the cheeky locals, the ‘Kea’, which are mountain parrots native to New Zealand. We meet up with the rest of the crew in Murchison, who have travelled down from Nelson, and then it’s on to Buller River Adventure Tours, where you have the chance to jump on a jet boat, horse, or quad-bike.
