AUCKLAND TO PAIHIA (BAY OF ISLANDS) We arrive in the Bay of Islands around mid day and check out the surrounding sights of Paihia, including the historical site of Waitangi. Northland is rich in history and Maori culture. With its clear water, huge kauri forests, and 144 islands to explore you will soon see why Kiwi Experience heads up north. Swim with the dolphins, experience the Excitor fast boat ride out to the famous hole in the rock, go kayaking, sailing, fishing, diving, snorkeling or just relax on the beach. PAIHIA TO CAPE REINGA RETURN Roll yourself out of bed and be prepared for an action packed day up to Cape Reinga. This area is very sacred to the Maori people and the day trip to Cape Reinga is a MUST DO if you have the time to spare. The day is packed full of walks and free activities. Drive along 90 mile beach, see huge Kauri trees, sandboard down the gigantic sand dunes, view the Tasman Sea and the Pacific Ocean clashing at Cape Reinga, gather shellfish on the beach, and experience NZ’s best fish n chip shop! PAIHIA TO AUCKLAND Departing late afternoon you have all day to do as you please before making the 4 hour drive back to the “big smoke”, as us Kiwis affectionately call Auckland.
