As well as the incredible value already built into your New Zealand backpacker’s pass, each journey includes lots of great activities and extras as well as awesome discounts. You get all these benefits simply by being a Kiwi Experience passenger – we like to look after our Kiwi Experience whanau (pronounced “far-no”, the Maori word for family).

To make sure your hard-earned cash goes as far as possible the following stuff is included in respective New Zealand backpackers’ passes. That’s right no extra cost – it will cost you nil, nada, nothing, zilch, zero and will give you more bang for your buck! The bigger your pass the more stuff is included.

Sandboarding, Cape Reinga
Sandboard down gigantic sand dunes at the very top of New Zealand where the Pacific Ocean meets the Tasman Sea.

Cathedral Cove, Coromandel
Only accessible by foot or boat, check out one of New Zealand’s most scenic coastal spots. Tides permitting dig in the sand and make your own hot pool at Hot Water Beach.

Taranaki Falls
This walk is amazing! On a clear day you can see Mt Ngauruhoe symmetrical cone (also known as Mt Doom) and the older, more eroded Tongariro and Ruapehu mountains.

Cape Foulwind
An excellent track to the viewing platforms overlooking the seal-breeding colony.

Punakaiki Pancake Rocks
Punakaiki is best known for its Pancake Rocks and Blowholes. A must-see when visiting the West Coast.

Lake Matheson
A West Coast icon, Lake Matheson provides amazing late afternoon reflections, early morning sunrises and spectacular sunsets.

Accommodation and food discounts

The list is growing too fast to keep up but your driver will keep you informed once on the bus. Generally you’ll save a few dollars at each accommodation venue and there’s often meal deals for Kiwi Experience passengers in need of a cheap feed.

Cardholders pass discount
