Waitomo Caves Day Trip

This small group guided day trip from Auckland to Waitomo is the best way to see the famous Waitomo caves, home to the famous Glow Worms. Starting with pick-ups in Auckland city, we head south through rolling pastures and green farmland to the King Country where Aotearoas’ greatest network of limestone caves lie. We’ll take you on a short tour of the Waitomo Village. Make the most of your visit by choosing one of our epic cave tours. Options include the Ruakuri Cave Tour, Glow Worm Cave Tour ....or both! Afterwards, a visit to the spectacular Marokopa Falls & Natural Rock Bridge means you’ll have seen the best Waitomo sights. Afterwards, we return to Auckland for evening drop offs. Estimated return time to Auckland is 6.45pm.

This trip is subject to minimum numbers. (4 Passengers)

Faq's

  • I’m a solo traveller... will I meet other solo travellers?

    Absolutely! The majority of our passengers are travelling solo. Kiwi Experience is a social experience guaranteed to leave with new friends from across the globe.

  • Am I too old/young for Kiwi Experience?

    We welcome the young, and the young at heart aboard our buses, there is no upper limit! There is however a lower limit; you’ll need to be 18 at the time of travel.

  • What are your COVID-19 Health and Safety measures?

    Now that New Zealand has moved to Level 2, bus travel is permitted. We will ensure that we adhere strictly to government guidelines for tourism operators to minimise risk to our travellers, staff and operators.

    What this will mean:

    • We will be doing everything we can to reduce the risk of transmission and we will be playing it safe. Social distancing is possible at all times.
    • Travellers will be required to sign a declaration of health prior to beginning the tour.
    • Surfaces inside the bus will be wiped down regularly.
    • Hand sanitizer will also be available
