This Bay of Islands weekend tour takes you from Auckland to Paihia 'the winterless north', and Kerikeri - Northlands largest town. Here you will find the beautiful Bay of Islands, with its 144 islands and amazing beaches. The place has an awesome selection of water and land based adventure activities. Take the opportunity to go fishing, sailing, dolphin swimming, nature walking, or just relax on one of the great beaches in the area.​​​

Day 1Auckland to Paihia

Departing Auckland, we stop at Whangarei Falls on our way North, arriving in the Bay of Islands around midday. Check out the sights surrounding Paihia, including New Zealand's most historic location Waitangi - the 'Birthplace of the Nation'. Northland is rich in history and Māori culture and with its crystal clear water, huge kauri forests, and plentiful islands to explore - you will soon see why Kiwi Experience heads up north. See dolphins, ride out to the famous hole in the rock, or go kayakingfishingdivingParasailing, or just relax on the beach!

Day 2Bay of Islands

Today you get a full day to explore the amazing Bay of Islands. This place has an awesome selection of water and land based adventure activities so take the opportunity to go fishing, sailing, dolphin swimming, nature walking, or just relax on one of the great beaches in the area.​​​

Day 3Paihia to Kerikeri to Auckland

The last day of the tour and we plan to finish on a high. After breakfast we'll head a little further north to Kerikeri - Northlands largest town and home to some of the most amazing hikes and waterfalls. After a morning full of hiking and chasing waterfalls, we'll head to the "Old Packhouse" Farmers market for lunch, famous for its fresh produce and amazing coffee. From here we'll head back to Auckland making some spontaneous stops along the way.

Faq's

  • I’m a solo traveller... will I meet other solo travellers?

    Absolutely! The majority of our passengers are travelling solo. Kiwi Experience is a social experience guaranteed to leave with new friends from across the globe.

  • Am I too old/young for Kiwi Experience?

    We welcome the young, and the young at heart aboard our buses, there is no upper limit! There is however a lower limit; you’ll need to be 18 at the time of travel.

  • What are your COVID-19 Health and Safety measures?

    Now that New Zealand has moved to Level 2, bus travel is permitted. We will ensure that we adhere strictly to government guidelines for tourism operators to minimise risk to our travellers, staff and operators.

    What this will mean:

    • We will be doing everything we can to reduce the risk of transmission and we will be playing it safe. Social distancing is possible at all times.
    • Travellers will be required to sign a declaration of health prior to beginning the tour.
    • Surfaces inside the bus will be wiped down regularly.
    • Hand sanitizer will also be available
