Had an incredible 6 weeks on Kiwi Experience. They show up the very best that New Zealand has to offer, all the drivers are such a laugh. You can ask them anything and they will either help you out or ensure they hook you up with the people that know. If you are at all worried about traveling solo this is the way to go, it’s set up to meet new people from the start you feel part of the group. But don’t feel that this will limit you, you are able to hop on and off wherever whenever you want. Thanks Kiwi!

A good and easy way to travel through New Zealand and meet new people.

I had 4 enjoyable weeks travelling around the north and south islands of New Zealand. There are a lot of epic activities that you can do at most of the stops although these are fairly expensive but the drivers also give you ideas for free activities too which is good.

I bought my pass before coming to NZ, and it was the best decision to make! Saw so many beautiful places and always stayed in a group with great people :)

Absolutely loved the Kiwi experience. Perfect for travellers who want to meet people and have limited time to see the best sights of NZ. Wish I could do it all over again!

My overall trip was awesome, loved the people, the day activities, the journeys. However I did struggle with a few drivers purely because they took their bad mood out on the bus (Ben and cuddles - Dave)

What an experience for an 18 year old! For me it was the perfect way to meet a lot of people in such a short time! And you see almost every thing! I would defenitly recommended for young people!

I didn’t even plan to go to New Zealand when I went away but I’d heard great reviews about how fun kiwi is, so I thought I’d go and it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made! You make so many friends on the buses, get to meet so many new people and you get to have so many experiences with them. Definitely made friends for life and had some of the most fun of my whole travelling on kiwi experience, I couldn’t recommend it enough!

I visited the north island with some kiwi friends of mine and I did just the south island with the kiwi experience. I was very insecure at the beginning whether the kiwi experience was a good choice or I would have been better off just renting a car and going solo. Going around with a bus you cannot choose your own experience, where to stop and for how long, since you can do that just at the ufficial stops, and they're not always the greatest. Lake Mahinapua for instance was a totally useless stop for instance. Don't get me wrong, I had a blast, but we were in the middle of nowhere and that (expensive) night could have been done in Westport or Franz Josef. Not being able to stop where I wanted was a big downside for me, especially when I discovered the stops kiwi experience made were not always the best choice. On the other hand, I met incredible people and I was pushed to do experiences I would have never done otherwise and that I am so grateful for! So I guess this whole thing is about compromises, you lose some freedom and you see a bit less of New Zealand in exchange for some awesome friends and great experiences!

I really liked that everything was so easy. But it would have sometimes been nice to drive of the beaten track. For example to see Taranaki or White Island. But Simon is an awesome Busdriver and I made many new friends and felt never alone! I also really apreviated the discounts on all the activities, especially the green-stone-carving in Lake Mahinapua.
