We had an amazing time on the kiwi experience in July 2019. We did minimum time bar a stop over in Wellington on the way back. Our driver, Elliott was amazing! He was so approachable, helpful and loads of fun. Would recommend the bus to everyone as everything is made so easy and you get to take in so much of New Zealand!

Spent three weeks in July going around the main islands with Kiwi-experience, could've easily used five, wish I had done four. I was on the 'Mighy Moa' round-trip package, rode from Auckland to Kaikoura - (Had a plane out of Christchurch, in hindsight, it should've been out of Wellington.) Pros: Lots of places to see. Lots of great people to meet. Easy to use - useful itineraries (Though always check pick-up time, describtion and street!) Decent selection of activities along the way. Jump-on - Jump-off passes for flexibility. Cons: You're going to be busy - It's a tight schedule unless you jump buses all the time. You will need to catch up on sleep in the bus, despite the view. Plan where to be, when and in which order after the bus-schedule. I'd travel with Kiwi again if I ever needed to get around New Zealand on my own again. It's great for single or couple travellers, if you're a group, I'd consider a car. (Tip: If you get an accommodation package, make sure you have the accommodation specific voucher.)

It was my first time backpacking with my daughter and the Kiwi Experience was part of an amazing trip.

Oh what a time! We managed to do a loop of the South Island in just over 2 weeks, and what a way to do it! The best way to see all of NZ and all the beauty it offers. Being able to easily pull up in any town we please and live out of our home on wheels. It was comfy, WARM, and roomy enough to accomodate my 6’5 fiancé! NZ what a time!!

I did meet a lot of new and nice people! Our driver Elliot was the best giving us a lot of information about New Zealand. He was chilled and fun and I would love to get on another bus with him!

Had a few minor issues, such as toilet not working from the start, heating was a bit of a challenge at times. Could tell the vam was older

We traveled for a week from Christchurch to Queenstown. A few things that we didn’t have that should probably be included; toilet tissue, foil or food containers, dish liquid, and hand towels. Also the touch screen on the radio and the Bluetooth did not work. Also it would be extremely helpful to have a nonstick skillet.

I had an absolute blast on the south and sound and have recommended it to several other people. I met some truly excellent people from all around the world and found the tour to be the perfect mix of independent tour and guided tour. All of the accomodation was nice and the range of activities offered was stellar.

The whole trip was absolutely fantastic, lively group, great driver, brilliant route with perfectly timed stops. I expected it just to be transport and nothing else but it is the perfect medium between just transport and a tour. Great discounted activities that work with your itinerary even if on minimum time. Would be good if the buses ran more frequently in winter so could hop off more easily but I still felt like I saw the places even on minimum time with 5 nights with Queenstown. A great trip, 10/10 recommend and made friends for life. Perfect for solo travellers, everyone was travelling alone but you would never guess that, everyone was so friendly and it was great that you could book hostel rooms with your new friends.
