Jumping on and off the buses was really easy when you do a backpacking trip through NZ

I started my Kiwi trip in Nov, for 3.5 weeks on the Sheep Dog pass. Travelling through North and South Island, from Auckland to Queenstown, I found the bus to go to all major destinations (plus a few quirky, off-the-beaten-track ones) along the way and the two drivers I had were really knowledgeable! The hostels could have been better - most of the Base/Nomads we stayed at were very commercial and you felt like 'just another backpacker', but some of the others, like the one at Lake Mahinapua were so welcoming and had their own authentic vibe! Before each major destination, the bus driver will also give you information about the activities available in each place, how much it costs and a genuine unbiased review of the activity. For example, our driver Ben said to do the white water rafting in River Valley as it's a longer trip, pretty much a similar river-scape and much better value for money! Met some amazing fellow travellers from all over the world (unlike Contiki which is predominantly Aussie) and they became like a family over the 2.5 weeks we were together. We now even have plans to go to South America together in 2020! I'd definitely recommend the Kiwi Experience for solo travellers or those who don't want the hassle of hiring their own car or driving. It's a wonderful, stress-free experience!

The best way to meet friends for life and also see the best bits of newzealand! The company really cares and knows their stuff - I would’ve been lost without them!

Travelled with family, kids had much fun.

Such a good way to get around NZ as a first time traveller. Made loads of friends and saw a lot of cool stuff in a relatively short space of time. Bus drivers Ben L and Josh L made the experience especially enjoyable :-)

Really enjoyed the trip. Josh was our driver most of the time and felt like we were friends toward the end. We also had Ben for a bit who was equally awesome, funny, and engaged with the passengers. Overall - lots of fun.

While studying abroad i decided to go travaling to New Zealand. Not knowing how or what to do chosing a hop on/off bus was amazing. I got to see so much of this country and the stories that were told while on the road were amazing. I met some amazingly sweet people and I definitely want to come back and see more, cause my list has gotten longer

I am very happy I did Kiwi experience as it was a wonderful way to see New Zealand. I did think there was an over emphasis on drinking, which I like but I thought some stops were simply too dedicated to that activity. There was also an inconsistence in the quality of drivers with some people exceptional and others being grumpy or less helpful.

I just finished my travels in New Zealand, leaving the country with a heavy heart since I've completely fallen in love with the Kiwi lifestyle and ways. Loved everything about KiwiEx, how easy everything felt with bookings (both activities and accomodation), the route and travels throughout the country and the people you meet on the bus and form lifelong friendships with. KiwiExperience made my NZ-travels the best ever!
