The vehicle was great for city hopping around the east coast. It allowed us to freely move to where ever we wanted to be. Driving was very comfotable, it being such a new vehicle helped a lot with that. The sleeping set up was fine and having the abbility to charge through usb ports was very handy. Also having the fridge was a big plus as it meant we could have cold water at any time. The only downside to the van was that there was no ventillation in the rear so sleeping, especially with two people on a warm/rainy night, was quite uncomfortable. Our solution was using usb fans bought from Target to keep air moving around the room and this worked ok.

My friend and I booked the Tiki trip last minute about one week before going on our 3 week trip to NZ. First we weren’t sure what exactly to expect, as we’re usually not really the backpacking kind of travelers. Starting in Auckland we were convinced that we made the right decision with Kiwi Experience. We had the most epic driver (Ninja, who unfortunately had his last trip with KE) and met some amazing new friends! Kiwi Experience makes sure that you get to see all the best spots in New Zealand and offers tons of (unfortunately sometimes rather expensive) activities. One of the big advantages of Kiwi Experience is that you don’t have to worry about any kind of organization during your trip, like accommodation for example (as long as you’re comfortable with sleeping in dorms). Most of the hostels were fair for their price, though there’s a need to say that some of them (especially Base) didn’t meet basic hygienic standards. Even though there have been some small issues our overall experience was totally awesome and we’d always travel with Kiwi Experience again!

Met some amazing people all the drivers were great fun, if you’ve only got 5 weeks in New Zealand kiwi experience will show you the entire country

I bought the super funky pass a few months before I went travelling. It is nice and to travel with Kiwi E. I like that the drivers have a big knowledge about NZ and some of them are really good to tell stories and legends. You can ask them about everything and they are happy to answer.

There are nice drivers and friendly staffs. The bus route is reasonable. In addition，activities are very interesting

The bus pass makes it so easy and stress and hassle free to travel round but sometimes it felt like being on a school trip and being told what to do

My kiwi experience, on the whole was good. Not sure I would recommend it for those who are not fresh out of university, since it often felt as though I was on a school trip. But overall I met some great people. In particular, my driver, Happy, was a real delight to meet.

Had the most incredible time from start to finish, met amazing people, saw incredible places and had so many fun experiences, whether that was white water rapids or just a night out with everyone. I’ll never forget it. The only thing I’d tell people is not to worry about pre booking the special accommodations and activities on the website. I forgot about some of the things I had booked and I had to change some activities. You get the chance to sort it all on the bus and it’s nice being able to change your plans if you want to stay with your friends. I will say the kiwi team were great at refunding me and letting me swap dates and stuff.

De Kiwi bus is good to get from place to place, but as a 30-year old girl who does not come to NZ to party and drink, I felt little connection with the young people in their gap year. Fortunately, I was mainly couch surfing instead of staying in hostels, so once I was off the bus, I did my own thing with people I had more in common with :) The good thing about the Kiwi bus is that it's relatively cheap, they are very flexible in hopping on and off, and like I said before it gets you from place to place!
