Best way to backpack in NZ! The drivers help you with anything and the group becomes your family.

My friend and I decided to travel through New Zealand by bus and we are so happy that we chose Kiwi Experiences since it has given us such nice and funny memories! Even though it has been almost a month since we travelled with Kiwi my friend and I still talk about our bus rides and especially about our bus drivers.. We met so many people on the bus we still have contact with today and hope to visit in the future all over the globe! So thank you for that Kiwi, we hadn’t been able to meet any of these amazing youngsters if it wasn’t because of you! I would highly recommend Kiwi Experiences to my friends who want to travel around in New Zealand since my friend and I are so satisfied with our time there. I would like to end this reveiw by just saying that I will never forget the memories I got with Kiwi Experiences!

Only way to do New Zealand as a solo traveler, had such an incredible time and made the best friends.

It was really unconventient that we were so limited and inflexible due to peak season of travelling. If the whole of Kiwi Exp. Is advertised with flexibility, hop off wherever you want etc., it is really sad that this is not the case and you have to book everything in advance (it would have been nice to know that earlier. Make that more clear on your website). Additionally, the buses were often not on time and other incidents have happened. It’s also kind of annoying that it is advertised that kiwi provides the best prices, when especially the hostels are nearly always more expensive than if you book them yourself (and other hostels are often much nicer). All in all, I was quite disappointed because of the things just mentioned and additionally because I didn’t think that this would be kind of a group travel/ party thing (although that is of course not kiwis fault). I would have loved a travel far more personal.

I decided to take the hop on hop bus because I only had 4 weeks time to see both islands and I travelled alone. I already had experience with hop on hop bus because I travelled in Australia before. In my opinion kiwi experience is not a typical hop on hop bus because you have to book your journey days before and can't just change your iternery without being afraid to not get a seat on the bus and you are not even allowed to just jump off where ever you want. There was usually just one or two buses which drove the way to the next place. Because of that it was really busy on the bus and I heart that people had to wait for 3 days to get a seat on the bus. Kiwi experience is also more like a guided tour because you usually drive half of the day or even more with the bus and sometimes do some stops to take a picture for 10 minutes or so. Besides if you wish they book the hostels and activities for you. A good thing about kiwi experience is that you meet a lot of people from all over the world who you sometimes travel for more than two weeks with which is a good chance to make new friends. In the end I would say everybody has to decide by themselve if this is what they want. I prefer being spontaneous and doing things by myself.

Kiwi Experience is a great way to travel trough NZ. They bring you to all the must sees and must dos. Most of the drivers are very friendly and create a really good and funny mood during the (sometimes very long) bus rides. But if you are traveling during the peak season it isn't so easy to change / extend your stays. I have been on a lot of 'waiting lists' during my journey. At least everything worked out fine and I were able to travel as planned, but if you are more in 'planning' then in 'spontaneous' you should definitely think about your initerary before and confirm it with the Kiwi Experience travel team. Checking out the stops and activities before is also a very good idea. The Kiwi Experience App is great to get a clue what you can do where. The bus drivers are also telling you everything about the activities, but if you haven't already arranged one or two extra nights it is sometimes too late and you can't do all the cool things you would like to do on site. Another cool thing is, that you have the first night at every accommodation confirmed via Kiwi. But as already mentioned below, if you would like to stay longer you need to arrange it yourself! It's not enough to confirm another pick up date with the Kiwi office!!! Regarding the Hostels themselves... Of course it depends on your personal attitude, but during my journey I have quickly learned that there are some Hostels I really don't wanna stay in. But you have always the chance to arrange another accommodation and let the Kiwi office know. Usually they are doing their best to drop you off there, too. Must - do activities (in my opinion) are: Waitomo Blackwater Raft, Tamaki Maori Village, Franz Josef Heli-flight or -hike, Cape Reinga Tour Fazit: If you would like to explore NZ without planning the trip yourself, if you would like to go to all the hotspots and sometimes come into the enjoyment of special Kiwi-deals and - offers, if you would like to meet a lot of new people, if you are fine with sometimes very loud party - Hostels and if you are in for nearly every night 's party ... then Kiwi Experience is definitely for you!

Good organisation ..................................

While booking my tour through NZ I searched for a good and easy way to travel and found it with Kiwi Experience. It is very good organized (sometimes too much for non autonom people who are traveling for the first time) and I liked most of the many in-between-stops. Sometimes the tour from one city to the next was stretched very long. I enjoyed geting to know many people and travelmates. The busdriver were funny and well organized.

I didn’t really know what to expect but it will was so amazing and you meet the best people!!!
