Beyond Expectations

Huge shoutout to Q, Toddy and Gina, our incredible drivers who put with up with so much of our nonsense and asking questions they've already answered. Also informative and so knowledgable about the whole of NZ, really impressive. Great driving on these dangerous roads and they really sold the activities that were available. Thank you also Gina for letting me catch you when I forgot my sunglasses.

Amazing experience

They organised everything for you which was perfect for my friend and I who were very disorganised because accomodation was guaranteed and they got great discounts on all the activities! Also shout out to Q, Toddy and Gina who put up with so much of our problems especially when they had to stop the bus specially for us to go to the loo. They were all very easy to approach and really knowledgeable about everything! Thank you Kiwi for the BEST experience!! Only thing is would say they need a 24 hour phone line and an emergency loo on all the buses.

Best Experience of My Life!!!

Kiwi Experience: wow what a dream come true. I've traveled the world and Kiwi Exp is still hands down the coolest, most eye-opening adventure I've lived. Every single day included unique outdoor adventures A typical day would include hopping on the bus (where you'd look out the window and see the most beautiful views of lush green rolling hills and flowing water falls) and travel to a new destination with plenty of stops along the way to hop off and enjoy the peace of outdoors with nature trails and hikes. The people are the best part- the friends I've made are people I will cherish for the rest of my life. Travelers ranged from all ages (majority 18 to early 20s and then a large group of late 20s/ 30s who want a break from the workforce but there were plenty of honeymooners and older couples who seek adrenaline rushes and beautiful opportunities). -What did we see: I did the Tiki tour for 18 days and didn't hop off. I saw everything from Hobbiton/ Lord of the Rings sites, hiked a 19km Tongariro Crossing aka Mount Doom, geothermal hot springs, skydiving over glaciers in Franz Josef, and bungy jumping in famous Queenstown. I found pieces of myself necessary to grow and cherish the beauty this earth always offers. I grew as a person and learned to truly love this life I've been given. The carefree energy and confidence encouraged me to jump out of my shell and try so many new things. -My favorite part: besides the people, everything. Everything from finding myself on top of Mt Doom to white water rafting in River Valley to our sunset sailboat cruise on Lake Taupo where the motor died and we found peace in sailing home to our dress up party in Mahenipua to being welcomed as family in a real authentic Maori village interactive dinner. -Why I choose Kiwi over other buses: Kiwi gets off the beaten track just as much as every travel bus, but Kiwi uniquely cares for every single individual traveler and caters to their needs with qualified drivers who will encourage specific activities and always guarantee accommodation for your first nights. I loved the fun, energetic confidence I knew I would find in the people choosing a bus like Kiwi. I was drawn to the free-spirited, bubbly fun that I read in other amazing reviews and social media posts. I looked on Instagram for Kiwi Experience hashtags and messaged people currently traveling through different buses for their advice and every single one 110% recommended Kiwi as the way to go and see New Zealand. -Would I recommend Kiwi Ex to friends: absolutely already done Overall, I loved Kiwi Experience and found it to be enlightening with friendships I'll always cherish. The people helped me grow in confidence and get out of my comfort zone. I loved seeing new things that only Kiwi drives to and meeting friends around the world who quickly became like family. I absolutely loved Kiwi and feel that a piece of my heart rests in the waters of NZ thanks to this fun, loving family and adventures.

Awesome

Definitely one of the best way of travelling around nz, was going out traveling by myself. Wasn’t by myself for a second, met the most amazing people in one of the most beautiful places on earth.

See new zealand without the hassle

The main reason I chose for kiwi experience is because it is my first solotrip and I was too afraid to drive in an unknown country all by myself. Thanks to kiwi experience I could see whole new zealand without thinking about anything and easily make some friends to share my experience with! However, if you’re on an minimum schedule. You have waaaaay to many days sitting on a bus and paying for a hostel so you loose a lot of money without doing anything. My favourite parts of the travel were: hot water beach, tongariro crossing and mount tauhara in taupo, heli hike in franz josef, roys peak and isthmus peak in wanaka, ben lomond in queenstown. All the rest was just good to band with the others, but nothing more.. also, kiwi experience is not as flexible since you are often on a waiting list which is too bad. It would be cool just to stay longer where you want and skip the things you don’t want to see

Good

Really easy to book activities and accommodation. But felt a bit school trippy with organised walks etc but we still had a fab time

Good but not much freedom

The people and places were great but you sometimes don’t know you want to stay longer in a place until you get there or you want to go a day earlier due to weather and they don’t accommodate that

Amazing trip but could make a few tweaks

The social side is the real highlight for me! You meet a lot of people and there are so many opportunities to hang out. You will end up spending lots of money as the activities aren't cheap and it's hard to book your own as the wifi isn't great. Sometimes the drivers are young and unprofessional e.g. refusing to help you past 5pm when they have their 'time off'. Also if you're looking for total flexibility it's probably not for you - you have to book the buses days in advance so not strictly 'hop on hop off'. Ithink in terms of value for money though it's incredible!
