Excellent opportunity to meet other solo travelers
I got the pass for both the north and the south island and it was a great experience. I was traveling by myself but the kiwi bus made me feel like a was traveling with a bunch of other people. I got to experince so many cool things with people that I had just met.

Adventure travel
I bought this without realising that it’s a backpacker trip and I was 68 but it didn’t matter as every young person was lovely. I so enjoyed the activities and options available. I had never dived in caves nor been skydiving and had so much fun.

Did this trip in December and it’s one of the best things I’ve ever done. If you’re happy paying Abit more just to have the trip sorted and planned out for you so you can enjoy stress free then do it. All I did is have fun and meet amazing people. Also Guy, our driver, was a legend and we were lucky enough to have him.

I had a great start of the trip with Fraser as driver and he was great! Later on, I got stuck in Franz Joseph for 5 days. Nothing that Kiwi Experience can do anything about but the communication was HORRIBLE! Our driver disappeared for the whole time but showed up at the bar at night. We had to go to the public meetings that the city held because our driver didn’t go. We listened to the Stray driver who briefed their passengers twice per day. All this to get any sort of Information about the situation. When we called Kiwi Experience to try to get some information about everything and what we should and could do, and they just told us to get up 8 am and go on the bus but we knew from the information we had gathered that the roads were still destroyed, and so said our driver at the pub! I’m really disappointed how Kiwi Experience handle the situation, it’s not their fault but the information and communication was horrible.

Simply the best experience I’ve had so far!
My friend and I signed up to the Sheepdog trip a few months ago and I couldn’t recommend it more. We had the most amazing time with the best people we met on the bus. Our driver was Guy who made the trip even more memorable, his knowledge and advice on activities was always on point - big thanks to him! Kiwi was also great. The app was very helpful, the company couldn’t do enough for us. One day out ferry to the South Island was cancelled so they arranged a plane for our - just incredible! I have not one bad thing to say about the entire trip - if anyone is thinking of going to New Zealand, this is the tour for you!

Great trip
I was unsure what to expect from the kiwi bus, but it was so much better than I hoped. The activities available included all the things I wanted to do, and some I didn’t think I wanted to do. I met great people on the bus, and enjoyed the bus driver (James) and his commentary as we explored the South Island. Everything about catching the bus, accommodations for the night and activities were easy to follow and plan. I would use the kiwi bus again if I do another solo trip to New Zealand.

Great way to travel alone
Bought my kiwi experience pass since I decided to travel by myself and this seemed to be perfect for making new friends!!! And it is, you'll definitely meet new cool people to hang out with. I've been hopping off at different places which made it a bit difficult to connect with the people on every new bus I hopped on. Some drivers have been weird and not the friendliest which surprised me, but at the same time I've had some really cool kiwi bus drivers!!!! All in all I would definitely recommend kiwi experience because it's probably the best way to see the country if you're not traveling with a bunch of friends in a car... Just prepare yourself to spend some money on activities. And don't buy the accommodation package, most unnecessary thing I did that kiwi experience recommended.

Awesome tour of New Zealand
My friend and I travelled around New Zealand for 5 weeks with Kiwi. We met some fantastic people on this tour and I have seen some of the most beautiful sceneries in my life in New Zealand. I also experienced lots of new things thanks to the activities: hot pools in Hot Water Beach, rafting in the Waitomo glow worms caves, geysers and kiwi sanctuaries in Rotorua, horse riding in River Valley, surfing in Westport, stargazing of the Southern sky in Lake Tekapo, whale watching in Kaikoura, and spending Christmas at the beach in the Bay of Islands. I was also delighted to recognize the scenery of Lord of the Rings and Narnia. I highly recommend the Kiwi Experience tour but I also advise people to be very careful about their budget as you will be tempted by so many activities (and food), and I will never forget my trip in New Zealand.
