Excellent Service

The Camper was in great condition - clean and tidy and newer than we expected. Staff were lovely. We had a stone hit our windscreen on the first day and we called the 0800 number and they have us reassurance and good advice. Drop off was a breeze and very helpful staff.

Hop on hop off not so much.

Kiwi experience was an excellent way to travel way New Zealand. It was a great way to meet people, see the beautiful landscape and do all the activities. We had some amazing bus drivers who were great at telling us about New Zealand with all the facts, whilst being professional and friendly. I want to say, Murray was the best driver we had with his good sense of humour, friendly nature, professional nature, good tour guiding whilst being a good laugh on the night out. Andrea and Wozza were also good and brilliant at helping confused and tired travellers. The biggest issue with kiwi experience was the hop on and hop off bus service doesn't really work! You end up on stand by unless you keep on minimum time. We ended up with kiwi experience having to pay for us to get to intercity bus from Rotoura to Taupo as 9 of us were on standby. This causes so many problems with trying to books hostels and activities when you are on stand by. So need more buses to make the hop on and hop off bus works. Finally kiwi experience always takes you to dry hostel which are more expensive so it's better to seek your own accommodation. I'm shocked kiwi experience doesn't have extra days in Wellington as its amazing place, as you don't get there until really late when you get there and you can't do any activities. Would of been helpful to see the itinerary for the bus routes online to help us plan what we were doing with the activities- we only had access the to itinerary once we were on the bus.

The apprehensive adventurer

After taking months to take the plunge and book with kiwi experience, it turned out to be the best decision I've ever made. Travelling as a married couple, some of the hearsay can be unnerving about what we will be "made to do" but this couldn't have been more wrong. Both my husband and I enjoyed every moment of our tour; our drivers (Josh & Digger especially), our fellow travellers (old and young) and of course the country were all incredible. As much fun was there to be had that you accepted and we never felt forced into anything, we simply wanted to be involved! Tip for travellers though, we went March/April which was a great time of year to go, less busy all round and made booking our buses a lot easier. Don't get fooled however into thinking this is simply a hop on-hop off service, there does have to be an element of planning involved. However, if your thinking about it...stop thinking and book (well wait for a good offer first!!).

Wonderfull experience!

I had an awesome time traveling through New Zealand with the Kiwi Experience buss! The driver that I had was Simon and he was really helpful. The layout of the routes were nice as they covered a big area of New Zealand in a limited time. I didn't have to do much planning for the trip as a lot of activities were presented as we went along and the accommodation was also sorted at all the stops. I would definitely recommend using the Kiwi Experience to travel through New Zealand.

Loved New Zealand, Like the Bus

Overall really pleased with Kiwi Ex; it was easy travelling and helpful if you didn't want to organise much as everything was pretty much handed to you on a plate regarding accommodation, activities etc. Very much for a young demographic up for a lot of drinking. Would definitely recommend staying longer at most stops to actually get a chance to see NZ rather than just sticking with minimum time.

Best bus driver ever!

What an experience! Both my boyfriend and myself loved every minute of our kiwi experience on the south island. We had Ben Lavitt and all I can say about him is what an amazing driver he is! We had a ball, good music, fantastic sights, amazing journeys! Ben made our trip for us we had endless fun on his bus and deserves to get credit for it. Our whole bus became one big family and that was all down to Ben getting everyone involved not only on our journeys but also our evening entertainment. I would just like to say a massive thank you to Ben for being fabulous throughout our time in New Zealand and thanks to the Kiwi Experience for being the best bus tour company!

Incredible way to learn about the country

Not only were we able to view all the highlights of New Zealand, we had helpful drivers who explained what was and wasn't worth spending money on, where the good hikes were and the history of each location. A great way to meet friendly people from all around the world as well.
