My friends and Idecided to discover New Zealand through the Kiwi Experience during our gap year.

Overall I really liked my kiwi experience. It’s nice everything is very organised and you can book activities on the same day. However some stops are completely unnecessary and just prolong the trip. For example: Lake Mahinapua. Why do we stop there ? The lake isn’t very special and it’s weird that you are kind of forced to party. Same with River Valley. If you aren’t doing any activities it’s just very boring. But the most annoying stop was the drive from Wanaka to Queenstown. If people want to go puzzling world, they could just do it on their free time in Wanaka. Same with the Bungy..it’s nice to make a short stop there, but why do we have to wait until everyone did their Bungy? They can do it the whole time in Queenstown! It’s enough to leave Wanaka at 12 and arrive in QT at 1. So people who want to do Roys Peak for Sunrise still make the bus. This was the thing that really annoyed me the most on the whole trip.

I can really recommend the Kiwi Tour. The buses left always on point and the drivers have informed one very well. Always a few options of good activies But the hostels were quite often cheaper when we booked them on our own, instead of the Kiwi price

I booked the trip after a reccomendation from a traveller i met in Vietnam. Had a great time in New Zealand & was easy to meet people on the buses. The route was good hitting up most of the best places and the drivers were very knowledgeable about the places we went and were passing through. Very useful being able to book activities through the driver and also getting a bit of a discount on the usual price too. The only downside was trying to change buses as they are often full.

Kiwi Experience was great at bringing us around the country without us having to worry about the driving. We had some of the most amazing experiences (Skydive Fox Glacier, Waitomo Black Abyss, Dolphin Swim Kaikoura, River Valley Rafting) and also enjoyed the free walks. We knew people who had done Kiwi Ex previously and thankfully warned us of certain accommodations since most of the hostels for Kiwi Ex are on the disappointing side. The drivers were really informative of the culture and history, helpful and cool! Ringing up the office was pretty easy and the people on the other side of the line always happy to help. The only time I had an issue was when I was trying to resolve an issue with a supervisor and it was always a different person answering me therefore nothing was getting anywhere.

We had a friend who recommended this trip to us and glad she did! It was super easy way to travel and the guides are all super helpful! It made our vacation stress free and we got so many unique experiences out of it, and learned so much about the country !

Great way to get about and see everything without worrying about looking for accomodation.

My friend and I were unsure whether to book the kiwi bus incase we felt restricted by the itinery, the only thing restricting us was our time. We wish we could have spent longer! The bus stops at such a variety of places, brilliant accommodation picks and really easy to alter your itinery as you go. We made some amazing friends on the bus. Experience we’ll never forget!

Good equipment, self contained, lots of space in our renault, met many nice people, camping can make friends
