A great experience!

I absolutely loved my time in New Zealand and this your made it super easy to meet people, arrange accommodation and activities. However no one told me how stressful organising my itinerary would be! I was traveling in March which I known is in peak season and the busses do get full, this is inevitable, however the hop on hop off aspect to this tour was no where as easy as I expected. As long as you are organised its all good, but adding days or changing the itinerary as you go is very difficult and could be pretty stressful. As a first time solo traveller I couldn’t think of a better way to do it, I met so many amazing people, you just have to be prepared to outback yourself out there because it’s can be pretty easy to keep to yourself. I would definitely recommend this to anyone thinking about it!

sweet as-ish

I had a fantastic time meeting new people, and the variety of activites offered are enough for people who don't want to research themselves, albeit expensive to do in each place. The booking of activities and hostels was easy with the bus drivers, knowing at least we had a bed for the night was a huge weight lifted as a traveller felt like a bonus. The bus drivers to commend for excellent service, safety, information and approachability are Toddy and Jonty (Pickles). I found others were hit and miss with jokes in very poor taste, or pushy sale techniques that put you off activities.

Best Way To Travel!

Kiwi Experience was recommended to us through our travel agent we thought it sounded easy and relaxed so decided to do it! It was so much better then we could have imagined! I don’t think we would have got to see half the amazing and beautiful things we saw if we had done it in our own! The bus drivers make it super easy for you so that you don’t even have to precook rooms! Would highly recommend!

Awesome experience for solo travellers

It was very nice and easy to get to know new people. In the beginning everybody had their groups already (which is why I recommend starting from Auckland rather than Christchurch). And I recommend saying more than one night at most of the places. Sometimes it's a little stressy when you drive all day, arrive at 5pm and can't really do an activity and leave the next morning at 8. Most of the times kiwi handles it very well and adjusts the times of the activities to their schedule but I like the places most where I spend at least 2-3 nights. You can actually relax and see a lot that way. Anyways, they made the (even long) drives very comfortable and had the funniest and nicest us drivers ever. Every one was young and energetic and open. I came to New Zealand alone and never really felt alone or lonely on the bus. I'll definitly recommend it to other people and want to visit New Zealand again. It was the most beautiful country I've ever been in. So if you consider to do it - book it!

Amazing experience

The Kiwi Experience was an amazing way to see New Zealand whilst meeting friends for life along the way. The organisation of the activities and accomodation was really simple, which allowed you to sit back and enjoy the views whilst travelling on the bus. The Kiwi Experience is a perfect tour to enjoy New Zealand in a hassle free way and each of the stops on the tour offered you a new take on a beautiful country. The Tamaki Maori village overnight stay is a must on the trip for an incredible authentic experience and a fantastic choice for the bus circuit. Hamish was always super helpful, kept us entertained on the bus with all his commentary and was a great person to complete the experience with. It was clear Hamish had a vast amount of knowledge about all activties and the places we stopped at ensuring everyone was well informed and could have the best time on their trip. There was not a day where Hamish was not super enthusiastic or happy, which kept everyone in high spirits even when there were early starts!

The Most Beautiful Country

I was in New Zealand from December 26th till January 20th and loved every day I was there. I realize I went at a great time of the year but the weather and scenery were breathtaking and like nothing I've ever seen before. As far as my kiwi experience goes. Overall it was a great time. Pre-trip they were quite helpful in answering any questions and I think the sheepdog tour was well laid out. I met some unreal people on the bus immediately and from the very first day never felt uncomfortable or uneasy, having never done a trip like this before. I pretty much did every excursion that was available at each stop and I would highly reccomend doing whatever the driver offers. Two of my drivers were very helpful with any questions I had. The other two not so much. Overall tho all of the drivers were very friendly and easy to talk too. If New Zealand wasn't so far away from Canada I'd love to go every January! Was the trip of a lifetime
