Trip of a Lifetime

I’ve just finished my Kiwi Experience trip - the Whole Kit and Caboodle. It’s really hard to sum up the experience however I made the best of friends which was amazing as I am a solo traveller. The drivers were also so helpful and nothing was ever too much to ask. Diesel was my main driver down the North Island and into the south and I have to say he was incredible. So knowledgable, funny and always up for a chat. Rob was my driver towards the end of my trip and I’d like to say he was also so cool and made the long journeys back up to Auckland really pleasant. I actually just want to do this whole trip again it was that good. I’ve written a blog of my Kiwi journey at ; https://smallgirlinabigworld2016.wordpress.com/ Thanks again. Laura Jayne

Trip of a lifetime

The Kiwi Experience totally exceeded my expectations. It was a brilliant opportunity to see a huge amount of the beautiful country in limited time. As a 27 year old that had never stayed in a hostel, I was nervous about what I might have to endure, but the people I met and places I stayed made my trip the most unforgettable and brilliant experience, and I wouldn't have changed a thing. The experience allows you to forget all of your worries and totally chill out - everything is sorted for you, which gave me a truly carefree three weeks. Our driver Happy (James) was pretty epic - informative, fun, helpful and hilarious - he is an asset to the company. I can't thank him enough for making the trip what it was.

Perfect for solo travelers

I was travelling solo so this was the only option I considered. I also had a short time and I wanted to see as much as possible on both islands, their itinerary covers a lot of the highlights so I am very happy with Kiwi Experience!

Best 5 weeks

I bought my pass after my friends recommended it and I’m so so glad I did! It’s the best way to see New Zealand and meet new people especially as a first time, female solo traveller! Everything is organised for you so you can just relax and enjoy the country and focus on making friends. By the end of my trip I had a little kiwi family and friends for life from around the world who I’ll definitely be catching up with when I’m back from travelling. It feels like one big school trip and the driver’s I had definitely made the experience too-Happy and Ducky! They knew so much about NZ and we’re super helpful with planning things and what activities to do. I would 100% recommend doing kiwi to anyone wanting to travel New Zealand-I wish I could do it all over again :)

Amazing Way to Solo Travel New Zealand

I just spent the last month travelling all over New Zealand with Kiwi Experience and it was absolutely more than I ever could have hoped for. It isn't just a bus that gets you from point A to point B, they actually let you see and explore New Zealand! Every day of driving includes photo stops, short walks, points of interest etc. so that you see the absolute maximum amount of things even when you're travelling between cities or through others. Beyond that, they have access to locations that other tour companies don't, and that you would never find on your own (like River Valley)! The drivers are phenomenal, fun, and knowledgeable. If you have any questions you can just sit up at the front and ask away. They make sure that you're enjoying your trip and even give you hints and tips of things to do or see in the different cities. The timeframe can be a little short and exhausting to do minimum time. Luckily Kiwi makes it so easy to adjust your schedule and spend extra time in any of the stops, or even in the towns you pass through. It's a really well done system that really let me see New Zealand the way I wanted to see it. The last, most incredible, part about Kiwi is the people. Especially when you're travelling solo in a new country it's sweet to have some familiar faces around. The people on the Kiwi bus with you become like a little family. You spend so much time together that you always have someone to do activities with, grab food or drinks with etc. Overall, I cannot recommend Kiwi Experience enough. It was an amazing decision and definitely made my time in New Zealand even more incredible.

An opportunity not to be missed

Unreal experience, Kiwi made travel so easy and enjoyable which really allowed us to focus on the wonder of NZ rather than booking and worrying about travel etc. Our driver Cowboy was unreal, making everyone on the bus feel at hom like one big 'family' and due to this we all formed bonds and friendships making the trip even more enjoyable. Would recommend 100%!!

The best way to meet friends for life and also see the best bits of newzealand! The company really cares and knows their stuff - I would’ve been lost without them!

Would do it all over again!

I just finished my travels in New Zealand, leaving the country with a heavy heart since I've completely fallen in love with the Kiwi lifestyle and ways. Loved everything about KiwiEx, how easy everything felt with bookings (both activities and accomodation), the route and travels throughout the country and the people you meet on the bus and form lifelong friendships with. KiwiExperience made my NZ-travels the best ever!

Exceeded all expectations.

I wasn't quite sure what to expect of my visit to NZ, other than some great scenery (and Hobbiton of course). Kiwi managed to deliver far more than that, with stops every now and then for some scenery that can't be described as anything other than awesome. It was much appreciated that Kiwi does all the "administrative work", so to speak, such as in booking accommodation (so that all you'll have to do is pay on the spot) and offering loads of different activities (most of which have a discount for Kiwi travelers, which is always nice). The best part though, which I never could have imagined, was how great it was to travel with a bunch of other backpackers who were doing the exact same thing as yourself. We all became a big happy Kiwi family, something that I will have to credit Kiwi Experience for, at least a little. Best weeks of my life so far.

Amazing Experience!

The Kiwi Experience was amazing and unforgettable. This was my first time to New Zealand. I had a rough start to my trip, as my luggage got delayed due to my flight. I wasn't able to call until the morning my bus was supposed to leave. The receptionist was very helpful and calmed me down, and rescheduled my start date with no fees. She also helped re-book my stops so I could be back in Wellington the day I wanted. I wasn't sure what to expect, as this was my first backpacking trip. I went in October, so it was a slower season for New Zealand, I was glad because my bus had about 20 people the whole way. I started in Wellington and did the South Island. I was glad our drivers were really nice and helpful. They would share fun facts about the places we were going and driving through. They made plenty of stops along the way for photos and short hikes, and a grocery stop before we went to the hostel. They would also recommend other things to do in the area when we got to our stop. They would recommend the activities you could sign up for, but also suggested free things in the area if you didn't have the budget. My only complaint is that some of the hostels wanted you in your room by 10pm, which made it hard to really meet anyone else. Also most charged for wifi, which isn't the biggest deal, but since most areas have little or no signal it would have been nice to have that for free. Also, I wish we were told further in advance when we required deposits for hostels, because I rarely carry money on me. Overall, I loved my experience and would do it again! It was great meeting new people, having friendly drivers who would remember your name and give you advice, and not worrying about booking my own accommodations.
